Julian is a composer, pianist, arranger, orchestrator, conductor and educator raised in the Napa Valley, and is currently based in Calgary. He earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto in Music Theory and Composition.

 

Initially a pianist, Julian’s passion for music sprouted since starting classical lessons at the age of five. His exploration within music led him to begin composing, then to his current work. He has coached the pianist of the Napa Valley Youth Symphony, and privately teaches piano students through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) program. He also actively performs as a keyboard player in Calgary for musical theatre and private gigs.

 

As a composer, Julian’s instrumental compositions and arrangements have been performed by the Napa Valley Youth Symphony, and surrounding schools in the Napa and Solano Counties. His compositions also reach out to the world of game soundtracks and film scoring, in which he has been acclaimed with awards including one for Best Original Score by the Washington Film Awards in 2023.
